This Mortal Coil
contents

Everyone wants to live forever. But, not like this!

Note: the second and third parts of this story are temporarily offline as they are completely rewritten, reworked, reworded, redone, and a bunch of other re type words. Trust me on this; it's all to the good. However, the first part is a somewhat self-contained story, so I hope that will keep you entertained while I replace the travesty that once was the rest of the story.

2007 NaNoWriMo winner Alright, NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is not that much of a contest. It's much like the plastic metals they give the kids in little league for doing it at all. Anyone who manages to turn in 50,000 plus words within one month gets to call themselves a winner. It's a way to get all of you who have always thought about writing to actually get started, and a way for those of us who write all the time anyway to feel comforted by the thought that people all around the world are going through the same thing that we are. No human actually reads what you write; there's a web bot that counts the words for you. All you win is a couple of graphics, a certificate that I never bother printing out, and bragging writes. You can click the graphic, or here, if you want to visit NaNoWriMo's website for more information.
