Alright, NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is not that much of a contest. It's much like the plastic metals they give the kids in little league for doing it at all. Anyone who manages to turn in 50,000 plus words within one month gets to call themselves a winner. It's a way to get all of you who have always thought about writing to actually get started, and a way for those of us who write all the time anyway to feel comforted by the thought that people all around the world are going through the same thing that we are. No human actually reads what you write; there's a web bot that counts the words for you. All you win is a couple of graphics, a certificate that I never bother printing out, and bragging writes. You can click the graphic, or here, if you want to visit NaNoWriMo's website for more information.
